First & foremost, I take no credit for how I arrived at this junction of Ministry... ALL of the honor, ALL of the glory... and ALL of the praise belongs to my Father in Heaven, Christ Jesus my Savior, and the Holy Spirit actively working within me daily! My journey with God has taken many forms, but one of the most unexpected places He transformed me was in a gym. All of my life, I struggled with obesity and emotional eating. These weren’t just physical battles they were emotional, spiritual, and deeply tied to the wounds I carried.
During one of the hardest seasons of my life, when I was facing abuse inside my home, the gym became the only place I could breathe. I didn’t go there to become stronger. I went there to survive. But somewhere between the treadmill and the weight rack, God began meeting me in a way I had never known before.Through tears, sweat, and whispered prayers, I lost over 100 pounds naturally. But more than that, I discovered a truth that changed me forever:
The principles that reshape the body are the same principles that reshape the spirit.
Discipline.
Consistency.
Rest.
Fuel.
Endurance.
Training.
Healing.
As God strengthened my physical body, He was strengthening my spiritual one. The gym became holy ground — a place where He taught me how deeply the physical reflects the spiritual.
But my story didn’t end there.
Life shifted. I became a single mother of four. Support disappeared. Childcare vanished. Stress hit hard. And the emotional eating I had battled since childhood resurfaced. I regained weight, and for a moment, I felt like I had ruined the testimony God had given me.
But then He reminded me:
A testimony is not the story of a woman who never struggled.
A testimony is the story of a woman who refuses to quit.
Today, I am in a new chapter not where I once was, not where I desire to be, but held exactly where God is working in me. I am learning again how to fuel my body and my spirit with what gives life. I am training again... slowly, intentionally, with grace. I am rebuilding from the inside out.
And now, through Transforming Through Christ Ministries, I am extending the same training to you.
Physical strength and spiritual strength are not separate. They mirror each other.
The way we stretch, lift, endure, rest all of it has a spiritual parallel.
If God could meet me on a gym floor during the darkest season of my life and rebuild me piece by piece, then He can meet you anywhere in your grief, your healing, your parenting, your exhaustion, your survival, and your becoming.
Transformation is not a moment.
It’s a lifetime of taking up your cross... one day at a time.
Welcome to the journey.
You don’t have to walk it alone.
